Cycloramas

Cycloramas are a well known concept in the geo-market, but what does it really mean? A Cyclorama is a spherical 360-degree panoramic photo. But for CycloMedia it is more than just a spherical panoramic photo. The Cycloramas of CycloMedia have the following characteristics:

  • A 360-degree panoramic photo of high resolution;
  • Spherical, besides a 360-degree field of view you can also look straight up and down;
  • Good uninterrupted view, no visible stitching in an image;
  • Upright image; recordings made on a slope are corrected, insuring that the images will always have a level horizon;
  • Of every image the recording date and time is known;
  • Geometrically correct, of every pixel the exact location is known;
  • Outstanding geo-referencing, precise information about the position and viewing direction;
  • Easy to open and manage with the provided tables and special software.

Since the location and orientation is known for every recording, the images can be easily connected to various GIS systems and Google Earth. In a Cyclorama you have a 360-degree field of view, but you can also zoom in and out.

The Cycloramas of CycloMedia provide an immediate and comprehensive overview of the environment. As recordings are made every five meters, objects can be viewed from different angles. With Cycloramas you can easily collect information about the environment, such as objects and street furniture, in a cost effective way.
