Farewell, Frank!
All good things must come to an end. For the past 8 years, we at Cyclomedia have had the honor of working alongside Frank Daly, who worked as a Senior Business Development Executive on the Local Government team. And now, as he moves onto the next chapter of his life, we'd like to reflect on his time at Cyclomedia as a cherished sales leader, mentor, and friend.
With a grand total of $52.5M in sales under his belt during his time here and many sales awards won, Frank's efforts and dedication have not gone unnoticed. In fact, even in his last week here, he worked tirelessly to win us one of our biggest contracts! Not only did he prove to be a great salesman throughout his career, but in his first weeks at Cyclomedia as well. "On my second or third week with Cyclomedia, I was travelling with two senior executives. We met in NYC on the way to Upstate NY. It was the first time I met our EU CEO. In the Uber, I told him that I was going to sign a major US City as I did with Pictometry. A year later I had the commitment from that City for a multi-year/multi-capture contract that we continue today. The data analytics projects that followed were icing on the cake."
What makes him such a great salesman, you may ask? He was not just selling a product, but building relationships with his potential customers. He says, "You will need to deal with various personalities that have various agendas. Fully understand your product or service and the value it will provide to the customer. Understand your customer." Although he is leaving Cyclomedia, it is not just us who will be missing him, but the customers and contacts he met along the way as well.
So, what led Frank to join Cyclomedia? "A colleague of mine recommended me to Joe Astroth, former US CEO. I researched CMT and met with Joe. I clearly saw the potential. It reminded me of the early Pictometry days. I could easily see Cyclomedia had much more to offer local government." And, his move here proved to be the right decision. He says the collaboration at Cyclomedia is outstanding, and he considers his team as family.
Although he found success here at Cyclomedia, it wasn't always a smooth ride! “As we were walking into the conference room to deliver an RFP, the Engineering Team of a competing firm were setting odds on how successful we would be. Clearly in earshot of us showing unprofessionalism and disrespect. In the end of it all, we won and had the last laugh.”
Now that he has more free time on his hands, Frank plans to travel the US and Europe with his wife and spend more time with his grandchildren, family and friends. Having recently moved to Delaware to escape the Syracuse, NY weather, he plans on joining a senior softball league, and do consulting work to “keep the saw sharp”.
And, as his time here comes to an end, Frank had some final words to share with us. “I consider you all family. I respect you all, treasure your friendship and the lifetime of memories you have blessed me with. No goodbyes… Rather, ‘till we meet again. God Bless.”
Congratulations on your retirement, Frank–you will be greatly missed!
